Mexico is the land of creativity! Whenever I visit the mercados or centers where the artisans work I simply cannot believe the array of items and the creative juices that flow there!
If you ever get a chance to see for yourself any of these places you will see from little children to older adults working side by side, it’s a family affair! The colors and variety of items will mesmerize you!
Just recently I was in Tonala, a town almost totally devoted to artisanal items ( and the people that are not are working in wonderful little restaurants and taquerias!). My God-daughter who lives there and was accompanying me that day was so impressed with the shop owners. She would ask where we could find a certain thing if they didn’t have it and they would graciously give us detailed directions to get there! It’s almost like they are all a small community that works together.
I am so blessed to be able to import many of these quality beautiful items and share them with the US market. I love the fact that the craftspeople are doing business and that this small venture might bring the two peoples closer to each other through their crafts.
